Forgiveness of Self

Forgiveness of self - includes ceasing the apologies.

I thought I knew about forgiveness. I talk about it a lot.  The mind may KNOW, but the heart is SLOW.  Here is how the greater awareness unfolded for me.

I thought I had forgiven myself for certain actions and behaviors.  I truly believed that were the case.  MY ACTIONS however, told a different story.  I was still apologizing.

I am still evaluating how I relate to others in light of these past transgressions.  The lack of forgiveness is impacting my relations.  By apologizing, I am acting as if I were not forgiven by them.  While I am fairly certain the others have forgiven me, have accepted my amends, evidently in my heart of hearts, I have not absolved myself.

A rude awakening, and I hope I have woken up.  Now the process of letting go can begin.

"Our ability to forgive allows us to make space for our ability to meet suffering—our suffering as well as the suffering of others—with a kind heart. "
